Delegate Black Endorses Governor Bush For President |

On President's Day, Delegate Dick Black officially announced his endorsement of Governor George Bush for the Republican nomination for president. Black, who has been assisting the Bush campaign since his visit to the area a few months ago, said he believes Governor Bush is the best man for the job. |

"Governor Bush has a proven record of running one of the largest states in the country," Black said. "He has managed the difficult job of bringing Republican and Democrats together to get his legislative agenda passed in Texas and we could use a little of that in Washington." |

Black has been assisting the Bush campaign since Governor Bush's visit to the area a few months ago. Black's endorsement is added to a long list of supporters including Governor Gilmore, Lt. Gov. Hager, Attorney General Earley, and former Governor Allen. |

"I've met with Governor Bush and I am confident that he can restore honor to the White House," Black said. "Last week was a great week in South Carolina and I believe Governor Bush will find an equally warm welcome from Virginians on Tuesday."
The Republican presidential primary is Tuesday, February 29, 2000. |
